Have you ever gotten a rebate card for $10?  Did you take advantage of the savings?  If so, do you think your teen would take advantage of the savings?  Your answer is most likely “no” since these rebate cards are still abstract enough to not make many teens take advantage of them.  But, that scenario will likely change when they are in your shoes. 

My friend and colleague, Steve Rosen at the Kansas City Star approaches this topic and gives a few tips for parents in his “Getting Real on Savings” article.  I thought I would share these great tips with you as well.
