The Baltimore Sun ran a great AP article about teens who earn money with Summer jobs and what a teachable moment it is. Those Summer jobs are often the first opportunity teens have to get a taste of the real world, so “empowering” them to cover all aspects of having a job (gas to get there, food for lunch, etc.) is a great way to start talking about money with them. They will have a whole new appreciation for what you do with your own family budget!
